A review of Royal Mail by Morganna written on Friday 7th of January 2022
So on a Tuesday I take a late lunch and pop to the shop, I return to find a red "missed you" card from the Royal Mail. Darn says I, I wonder what it is as neither my son, who uses my house for deliveries, nor I, were expecting a parcel/package letter - 'about your items' section, neglected to give me a clue on that front. Perhaps it's a late Xmas pressie. Yay!
I arrange a re-delivery, the item is to arrive on Thursday, that suits me as I have to work in the office on Wednesday. Alas, Thursday comes and goes no sign of parcel, so today Friday, I try to find out what's happened to it. Neither the original reference nor the re-delivery reference I was given seem to be recognised. Every attempt I make to resolve this matter hits a blank wall and I am taken round in circles.
The depot is an hour, two bus journey away or 6.5 mile hike in less than clement weather. I have no idea what I am to collect nor whether it is something that I can carry on my own. Given that my reference number is now throwing up a blank, I wonder if it is it even still there?
Upshot, I've gone from a darn that's bad timing but a little excited and sympathetic to that fact that the posties have a hard job to do, to absolutely spitting venom because your options are not very helpful to someone who is enquiring about a surprise delivery..
