"Couldn't be bothered to ring the bell"

Waited in all morning for a birthday present for my partner that I knew was being delivered. Just gone 12 found a note on my doormat to say there was no one home. No one had knocked or rang the (v.loud) bell. No one answering the phone so have no choice now but to pick this up myself on Monday, no use whatsoever for birthday today. Thanks a bunch Royal Mail..
