"Refusal to replace faulty phone case"

My wife bought a case for her Smartphone 10 days ago from Phone Junkies at Yate shopping centre, within 24 hours the pull up tab became detached, she returned it on our next trip to Yate 10 days later, ( we live 7 miles away ). The shop assistant refused to give her a refund or a replacement saying it was no good to him as it was broken !, if she had returned it before it was faulty he said he would have replaced it, she pointed if it was not faulty why should she bring it back. I subsequently went to his shop and again he said he would not refund or replace and referred me to trading standards, I would strongly advise against anyone buying from this shop, I have referred it to trading standards and I am progressing it with them..
