"Meeting People"

A review of St Pauls Gardening Project by Michael Dennis Stagg written on Saturday 4th of October 2014

We were wandering around a garden centre collecting Monty Don's advised wallflowers according to Monty Don's planting programme which we thought we should plunge into as our present wallflowers are over now and looking at other species when we encountered a young man with his lady selecting planting for this Project at Grosvenor Road and he described what was happening. Gentle soul who was happy to discuss flowers with me although my planting knowledge is sparse in theory, they progressed and we had a drink at the cafe and a discussion with another gentleman on rose pruning. As we know St Paul's Grosvenor Road a little from decades and seen its improvement it was good to hear his enthusiasm and share ideas. My parents had some contact with the local area churches many years back, the day was beautiful, the plants fresh, the hot chocolate enhanced by good conversation. Now Hemingway prose style is creeping in along with the vast plant growth this season so I shall cease.
