"Do not ask for set rate"

Afc taxi's have recently been bought bought out by v cars (found this out when got into the taxi) i have never had any problems with this firm before last night.i had to get my son to southmead hospital so i rang and asked for price i was told it will be £17.50 i relied fair enough would like one asap.There was NO mention of it being priced on the meter i thought it was a flat rate.We arrived and the driver asked for £26.50 thats a massive difference from the price i was told.We rang back the controller whilst in the car to ask again the price once again we were told 17.50 so we handed the phone to the driver who argued with the controller saying nah man its on meter controller then backed down and agreed with the driver.Had no choice but to pay totally digusted and would never recommend or use these guys again.I have put in a complaint and awaiting reply.will update the outcome..
